Venice Fish Market

This project introduces students to public architecture and its compositional strategies through a rigorous analysis of architectural precedents. A precedent serves as an exemplary model—capable of conveying knowledge and illustrating enduring conventions shaped over millennia in response to culture, climate, materiality, technology, function, and form.

By studying a selected precedent, students will explore themes of tradition, repetition, innovation, and architectural norms. The analysis will focus on three key aspects: structure, circulation, and form. Each student will research, analyze, and represent their chosen example through detailed drawings and a physical model.
